Who We Are

About BKI

Building Intelligent Systems since 2022

Our Mission

BKI is a technology company specialising in artificial intelligence systems, intelligent applications, and digital products engineered for real-world impact. We design and develop solutions that harness AI to automate, optimise, and fundamentally improve how businesses operate — not as an experiment, but as production-grade software that runs at scale.

Our mission is simple: to make sophisticated AI capabilities accessible and practical for organisations that want to move faster, make better decisions, and build smarter products. We bridge the gap between research and deployment, translating the state of the art into software that actually works in production.

What We Build

Our work spans a broad range of intelligent systems. We have built custom machine learning pipelines for structured prediction, natural language processing systems for document understanding and classification, computer vision tools for image analysis and quality inspection, recommendation engines, predictive analytics platforms, and AI-powered web and mobile applications.

The common thread is not a specific technique or technology stack — it is a commitment to building systems that are reliable, maintainable, and genuinely useful. We measure success not by the sophistication of the model, but by the real-world impact of the deployed system.

How We Work

We are a small, focused team. This is deliberate. Small teams move faster, communicate better, and take real ownership of the work they ship. Every project receives our full attention — from initial scoping through to production deployment and beyond.

We work closely with clients throughout every phase of a project. That means transparent communication, realistic timelines, and honest conversations when a simpler approach would serve better than a complex one. We have no interest in building impressive-sounding systems that do not move the needle on the problem that actually matters.

Our process starts with discovery: understanding the problem deeply before proposing a solution. We ask hard questions about data availability, constraints, success criteria, and the downstream consequences of errors. This investment upfront pays dividends throughout the project.

Our Engineering Philosophy

Substance over hype. AI is a powerful tool, not a marketing label. We apply it where it creates measurable value, and we are equally comfortable recommending a simpler rule-based approach when that is what the problem actually requires.

Production readiness from day one. Prototypes and production systems are different things. We design for reliability, observability, and maintainability from the start — not as a retrofit after a demo has been approved.

Long-term thinking. Software that lasts respects its future maintainers. We write clear, tested, documented code. What we ship today should still make sense — and still be running — five years from now.

Data quality first. The most sophisticated model is only as good as the data it learns from and operates on. We invest heavily in data pipeline engineering, validation, and monitoring — often more heavily than in model development itself.

Technologies We Work With

We are pragmatic about tooling. We choose the right technology for the problem, not the most fashionable one. Our core technical stack includes:

Languages & Frameworks

Python TypeScript JavaScript SQL FastAPI React Next.js Node.js

Machine Learning & AI

PyTorch TensorFlow / Keras scikit-learn Hugging Face Transformers LangChain OpenAI API Anthropic Claude FAISS / Chroma MLflow

Data & Infrastructure

PostgreSQL Redis Kafka dbt Airflow Docker Kubernetes AWS GCP Vercel

Why BKI

There is no shortage of AI consultancies. What makes the difference in practice is rarely the ability to fit a model — it is the engineering rigour to deploy that model reliably, the domain experience to define the problem correctly in the first place, and the communication skill to keep the project grounded in reality throughout.

We bring deep technical capability across the full stack — from raw data to production API to user interface — combined with the pragmatism to know when to use each. We take a small number of projects at a time and treat each one as if our reputation depends on it. Because it does.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size of project do you typically take on?

We work on projects ranging from focused AI feature development (2–6 weeks) to end-to-end intelligent system builds (3–9 months). We do not take on retainer-style commodity work — each engagement is scoped around a specific problem and outcome.

Do you work with startups?

Yes. Some of our most interesting work is with early-stage companies building AI-native products. We are comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing requirements, and we can help with both the technical architecture and the thinking about what to build.

Do you work with enterprise clients?

Yes. We have experience working within larger organisations, including navigating compliance requirements, integrating with existing enterprise systems, and working alongside internal teams.

What domains do you specialise in?

We have built AI systems across fintech, logistics, e-commerce, SaaS, and professional services. We are not limited to these — the AI and engineering skills transfer well across domains. What matters is a well-defined problem and good data.

Can you take over a project that is already in progress?

Yes, though we will want to do a thorough technical review first. Taking over AI systems without understanding their current state, data assumptions, and known failure modes is a recipe for trouble.

Bartosz K.

Founder & AI Engineer, BKI

Bartosz has spent over a decade building software systems, with the last several years focused exclusively on applied machine learning and production AI infrastructure. He has designed and shipped systems across NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics, and data pipeline engineering — working with clients in fintech, logistics, e-commerce, and SaaS.

At BKI he leads technical strategy and hands-on engineering, from initial problem scoping through to production deployment. His practical experience spans the full ML lifecycle: data acquisition and cleaning, model selection and training, serving infrastructure, and post-deployment monitoring. He writes about the engineering reality of AI systems — not just the theory.
